Christ crucified that day, alone the winepress trod,
The angels could not stay the mighty hand of God,
Who poured His wrath upon the Son, who poured His wrath upon the Son?
Imputing sins that I had done.
Death could not hold Him there, He overcame the grave,
God's law must now declare me righteous for He gave
His life a ransom for my soul, His life a ransom for my soul,
Not in the part but in the whole.
Now Jesus intercedes there at the throne of Grace,
His righteousness He pleads before His Father's face,
For all whose sins He put away, for all whose sins He put away,
Ascended there, He rules today.
You only need, by faith to look and you shall live
It's written in the Book, eternal life He gives,
His righteousness for you prevails, His righteousness for you prevails,
Who entered once within the veil.
While endless ages roll and time shall know no end,
our Savior we'll extol, the grateful sinner's friend
and worship Him who ever lives, and worship Him who ever lives,
Because eternal life He gives.

The Ministry of Reconciliation
God did not leave reconciliation to chance. He called preachers to preach; He sent His Spirit to regenerate; He gave His gospel, the ‘word of reconciliation', to declare.
God reconciled the elect to Himself by the obedience of Christ at the cross. Keep objective reconciliation, Christ, and the content of the gospel fresh in your thinking.
Our one intent in ministry is to call others to this reconciliation. My message is ever this: ‘be you being reconciled to God'!
Don't give up! Don't quit! Don't let things of the flesh hinder! If you are tempted, be reconciled to God! If you weaken, be reconciled to God! When friendship and family cause you to tremble at the singleness of the message, be reconciled to God!
May God enable us to be reconciled to Himself by the message of reconciliation.

"O my dove, in the clefts of the rock."Song of Solomon 2:14
Jesus is the hiding-place, the only hiding-place from sin and self. "You are my hiding-place," said David of old. This was shown to Moses, in figure, when the Lord put him into the cleft of a rock, which Toplady has so beautifully versified, to paint the longing desires of his soul- "Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee!"
It is on this "Rock of Ages" that God has built his Church. As a rock, he is deep as well as high--so deep as to have under-bottomed the depths of the fall, so high as to be God's fellow, seated at his right hand. As a rock, also, he is broad as well as long--broad enough to bear millions of living stones built on him, and long enough to reach from eternity to eternity. The Apostle, therefore, prays that the Church at Ephesus may comprehend with all saints, "what is the breadth and length, and depth and height, and know the love of Christ which passes knowledge."
J. C. Philpot, 1802-1869
The Church Built By The Lord Jesus Christ"
It's so important that we make it clear to EVERY SINNER with whom we have an opportunity to share the Gospel of Christ "and His imputed righteousness, that Christ WAS NOT SETTING AN EXAMPLE for them to emulate in order to gain or maintain eternal life. DON'T GET ME WRONG! It is true every regenerated and converted sinner, that God the Father justified and Christ redeemed at Calvary, has a desire to love God with all their heart-"We love him, because he first loved us."(I Jn.4:19) They also desire to love their neighbor as themselves-"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."(I Jn.4:7) Yet, even though they have this desire, every true child of God is forced to confess daily how miserably they fail the God of their salvation-"For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do...O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? (Rom.7:18, 19@24)
This reveals the difference between those born of God, and those still in a state of lostness. Unregenerate, lost sinners THINK they are saved based on what they've done or what they've been enabled to do-Read Matt.7:22; Lk.18:9-12. Many think that Christ desires them, and needs them, to build His church. Nothing could be further from the truth! Contrary to popular belief, Christ's Church ISN'T built with moral, sincere, dedicated, and committed people-"But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."(Matt.9:13) Christ as well as all His disciples was quite clear on this point. The Church Christ BUILT is an innumerable group of sinners chosen by God the Father in the everlasting covenant of grace- Read Eph.1:3, 4. These same sinners, chosen by the Father, are the ONLY ONES that Christ redeemed and that the Father justified by His obedience unto death at Calvary-"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the CHURCH OF GOD, which HE HATH PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD."(Acts 20:28) These elect and redeemed sinners will in God's appointed time, by God the Holy Spirit, through the preaching of the Gospel, be brought to recognize and learn of all that God the Father determined to give them, and all that Christ the Son purchased for them-"And because ye are sons (NOT IN ORDER TO BECOME SONS), God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father."(Gal.3:6) This is the Church of God, and you don't add yourself to it. God adds, through the preaching of the Gospel, those whom He loved before time -"And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved" (Acts 2:47b) and all God's children would have it NO OTHER WAY.
