The old church has had its definitions of holiness which you, as a super-church must reject. Here are some examples of what I am talking about:

• Your women must be allowed to dress as they please. If men gaze or cause other problems, rebuke the men, but say nothing to the women. Men should practice self control after all.
• Nothing is to be said, good or bad, about alternative sexual lifestyles. For the sake of the fundamentalists who may still travel with you, it will be wise to keep from encouraging these new ways but also wise to be far from condemning them. Just keep silent.
• Let your liberty extend to the promotion of whatever music and movies and media that hit the world’s charts. The pastor should use them in his or her sermons to let people know this church understands the ways of the world in which we must live.
• For those who have made “mistakes” maritally, let them be counseled privately with the notion that everyone makes mistakes, and they just need to move on. The word “sin” should not enter into the discussion.

Take it easy on the flock. They are only human after all. They will fall down here and there. But being harsh on their moral failures will only drive them from you. Live and let live. Above all, do not be judgmental, by which we mean, do not try to apply Biblical texts to various situations that arise of a moral nature in the church. Your reputation as a fair and kind and understanding church is at stake.
