It has been a hot, humid summer around here. The corn was beginning to shrivel, the grass was turning brown, and even the weeds in my garden weren't growing. Why? Because they were thirsty. Water is essential to life. The body can survive weeks without food as long as there is water available. However, a person can generally only survive three to four days without water. When a person feels the physical sensation of thirst he/she generally will know they must intake some form of liquid. Sadly, when many feel a 'hunger and thirst' that come from lives empty of God and full of self they think they can fill it with pleasure, entertainment, drugs, etc. They find out all too quickly that it leaves one empty and still 'hungry and thirsty'. Pastor preached a sermon on 8/2/2020 in the am service entitled "God's Appeal to the Thirsty". Isaiah 55:1 "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price." What hapens when we rely on God to fullfill us? Isaiah 55:12 "For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." Are feeling empty today? God wants to fill that emptiness. First, He wants to save your soul. Secondly, He wants to give your life meaning. I did not say "give you an easy life." However, everything He allows in your life has a purpose.
