A rose by any other name would be the same.

God by any other name would be different.

The difference would be the difference between God and not God.

God is Who He says He is. His name reveals just Who He is.

He is I Am, just as He says, or God is not.

The glory of the names of God is the glory of God, His Being revealed.

God told Moses His name, and that His name is I Am, to assure Moses of His identity.

This revelation of I Am was to assure Moses that this holy God appearing to him now was the same God of the fathers of the children of Israel. Moses was to tell these Israelites, languishing in bondage in Egypt, that he was sent to them in the name, and with the authority of

The LORD (I Am!) God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob (Ex 3:15).

Thus in the name I Am, by the God Who is I Am Moses and Israel would be greatly blessed.

Abraham’s sons had spiraled down. For four hundred plus years they had learned the way of the Egyptians, and to love the Egyptian fare, the Egyptian life, the Egyptian gods. Their slavery now in Egypt pictured their sin slavery.

They had changed. Their change was apostacy, a falling away from the faith of father Abraham.

But God is the LORD, I Am. In the name of Himself, ever faithful to Himself, and merciful, I Am will fulfill His promise.

I, I Am your God, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed (Malachi 3:6)

In changing times, midst falling sinners, a billion bondages, and plagues we all deserve…

Remember I Am. Today.

For such a time as this.
