Certain things are certain to be. Death. Taxes. A second and third wave of corona-virus.

The God Who is I Am certainly is God.

This God Who is I Am, the only true God, Being of beings, underived, uncreated, independent, self-sufficient, unchangeable, infinite, eternal Supreme One most ignore, even deny.

But God makes Himself certainly known so that ignorance and denial are inexcusable.

Since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen (Romans 1: 20),

and

the wrath of God is revealed from heaven…against…men…who suppress the truth (Rom 1:18),

against those who ignore and deny Him.

The God Who is, therefore, will certainly be God, the holy and just God He is when He punishes with eternal death defiant God-deniers.

He will certainly be God, no less, in showing mercy to some, and giving eternal life.

This latter is a surprise.

God visiting iniquity as it deserves—this is the message of the thunderbolt flashing through the sky, the tornado lifting off the barn roof, and of the rainbow, even, at the end of a storm, without an interpreter except the latest promoter of deviance, diversity, and the lie: to each his god.

The God of mercy—this needs a special communication.

A Moses must be told I Am and I Am God of Abraham and his children, and then sent off to tell those wayward children.

A Jesus must be sent, in the fulness of the times, to us.

We must be told of this God of mercy, or we cannot tell, we are so sinful, the difference between ourselves and the Egyp tian- San-F ranci scoan -Gran d-Rap idian -worl dly-G od-de niers , and whether or not this virus, which is no respecter of persons, is of the God Who would slay us all and still be God.

The certain word now sent from heaven:

I Am. I love you. Fear not.

That word, the gospel, making all the difference. And peace. And praise.
