I am preaching this weekend in the conference at Grace Baptist Church of Lewisville, AR where brother Darvin Pruitt is the pastor. We welcome brother Aaron Greenleaf from Todds Road Grace Church in Lexington, KY who will be preaching both services this morning. Elder Eric Floyd is preaching this morning at the Kingsport Sovereign Grace Church of Kingsport, TN. The Lord willing Janet and I will enjoy a couple of days of R&R on our way back home so Eric Floyd will also be preaching the gospel to you here on Wednesday. The Lord willing we will be back for the services next Sunday. Please pray for us as we travel and preach.
You say you are unworthy of the least of God’s mercies. Aren’t you glad Christ is worthy and that the redemption He accomplished was for the unworthy? You say you have no goodness or merits to claim. Aren’t you thankful God accepts sinners based upon the goodness and merits of His Son? You say the law affords you no hope. Right you are, but the gospel declares that the mercy and grace of God is freely given to sinners because of the doing and the dying of His dear Son! This is the only salvation worth having and the only one worthy to be proclaimed. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners

THIS IS THE RECORD
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (I John 5:10-12)
The word record means witness or testimony. The testimony that God hath given to us to believe is that God has GIVEN His people eternal life. Eternal life is not merited or earned by the creature. Eternal life is the gift of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eternal life is in Christ. Eternal life has been earned by Christ for His people by His perfect obedience to the law and His death as the substitute for His people.
This life is received by God given faith in Christ as all of our salvation, without any of our works added to Him.

True Humility
True humility is to have a right estimate of one’s self. It is not to deny or underestimate true ability, real knowledge, and obvious gifts. A gifted singer knows he can sing. An intelligent person is aware of his knowledge. A successful businessman knows his business. An artist knows his skills. It is not humility to speak what one does not truly feel.
True humility is born when one discovers the SOURCE of all gifts, talents, and knowledge. “WHO maketh thee to differ?” It is certain that we are different and some have what others do not have in different areas. But it is the Lord God, in His sovereign will, who has given us all that which we have. “Without Him we can do nothing.” “A man can receive nothing except it be GIVEN him from heaven!”
The higher a man grows in the grace of God, the lower he will be in his own eyes. A man who has been introduced to what really happened in the garden of Eden and what really happened on the cross of Calvary will have no problem with pride and arrogance. Apart from the mercy and grace of God, he knows WHERE he could be and he knows WHAT he could be! “I am what I am by the grace of God.”
