Prayer For Local Area:
New Cross
‘We thank God for blessing on the ministry of our new Pastor. Pray for wisdom in dealing with the needs of newcomers, particularly for their spiritual need.’
Prayer For Wider Area:
NEWS FROM BRIAN & NECY ELLIS, Philippines
We praise and thank the Lord for answering our prayers, at the end of May the Appeals Court declared that the newly affirmed owners of the adjacent lot could sell to us the lot and not wait for the rest of the estate to be settled. We have therefore just two weeks ago paid our down payment of £13,000 for the adjacent lot.
For quite a number of years we have been seeking land to extend our present building due to many limitations on the ministries the Lord has given to us. Our Sunday School is limited to about 100 due to lack of space (compare that to the 400 we had in two vacation bible schools). The worship area is often full. The Library needs more space so that students in Grace Ministerial Academy may study and use the library more efficiently.
The Drop-in on a Thursday night is well overcrowded and we also need car park space. The Church Office is actually located at our home, ten minutes walk from the church building.
We hope to eventually build on half of the lot to double the size of our present building giving us the facilities we need for the Lord's work.
CHRISTIAN COMPASSION MINISTRIES
The Lord has enabled us to rent for a reasonable sum a four bedroom single storey house in a very nice subdivision for use as a Boys' Home.
Thank you for your prayers for this. It is situated about one mile from our main Masinag Homes but closer to Cubao.
Currently Virginia one of the House Mothers is looking after them. She is used to boys having seven brothers. There are six boys at present but we expect to add four more sometime this month.
EAP Youth Camp - Held last month was well attended with exactly 100 teenagers. The gospel was clearly presented during the camp. Please continue to pray that we will see conversions among these young people.
We are really in need for several in the church to run a regular meeting for some of these teenagers. At the moment we have no one who is able to lead such a work.
Please pray the Lord will show us who could begin such a ministry.
