Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Psalm 2:11-12
“Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.”
(Psalm 130:1)
There is a difference between knowing that I need to cry out for mercy, and actually crying out for mercy. There is a difference between knowing that Christ came to save sinners, and actually being a sinner who desperately needs and desires to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. The difference is: the head and the heart! Knowing that I need to be saved is in the head, but the actual cry for mercy can only come from God giving a new heart that believes, loves, and sees its only hope to be in the Christ who purges sinners from all their sins!

A Believer’s Attitude Toward Sin
1.) He knows and rejoices that all of his sin and sins are pardoned, paid for, and put away by the sacrifice of Christ the Lord.
2.) He condemns sin in himself! While sin does not reign it does remain in the believer, but he does not excuse or justify it. He grieves over it and daily confesses his sins before God. He hates a bad attitude as much as evil actions. He judges his motives as well as his manner by the holiness of Christ; and, when he finds iniquity in himself, he despises it and judges himself. “O wretched man that I am!”
3.) He forgives sin in others! He does not forgive himself – only God can do that – but he is quick to pity, have mercy upon, and forgive others. Not to be able to forgive is to forfeit the right to ask forgiveness.
4.) He longs to be free from all sin and to be perfectly conformed to the image of Christ. While he rejoices in Christ, is content with his lot, and finds joy in the fellowship of Christ’s Church, he will only be satisfied when he awakes in the likeness of Christ!

The Fruit and Evidence Of Grace
Do you believe in the Son of God? If you trust Christ as your Lord and Savior, your faith in Him is the fruit and evidence of His grace bestowed upon you and wrought in you. Faith is the empty hand that receives God’s salvation, not the mighty arm that performs it. Faith in Christ is the result of eternal life bestowed, not the cause of life.

IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?
“And David said, what have I now done? Is there not a cause?”(1 Samuel 17:29).
“Is there not a cause?”This was David’s response to his older brother, Eliab’s false accusation against him of pride, irresponsibility of keeping their father’s sheep and naughtiness of heart (1 Sam. 17:28). David came to the battlefield that day being sent by his father, Jesse. He was sent with provision for the three brothers that had followed Saul to the battle against the Philistines (1 Sam. 17:17-18). David heard the ungodly rants and rages of the Philistine giant and the challenge that Goliath had issued to the armies of Israel (1 Sam. 17:8-10) and was concerned for the glory of God. “Is there not a cause?
Yes, there is a cause! God’s glory! When we hear the rants and rages of the religious ungodly against the gospel of Christ it stirs our hearts with zeal for His glory. How can we sit by idly and not pay any attention to what is being said today in most churches about the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is utter blasphemy against the God whom we love and the gospel we believe to hear some say, “Salvation rests upon the sinner and God has done all He can do, the rest is up to you!”
Is there not a cause in our day to take a strong stand for the cause of God and the gospel truth of redemption actually accomplished by Christ, not merely an attempt made (Heb. 9: 11-12; 26)?
Is there not a cause in our day to “earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints” and not to compromise to satisfy the feelings of some(Jude 1:24)?
Is there not a cause in our day to boldly proclaim the unvarnished truth that salvation is of the Lord, not by the will of man (John 1: 11-12; Rom. 9:15-16; 2 Tim. 1:9)?
Is there not a cause in our day to proclaim the good news that the Lord Jesus Christ, “came to seek and to save the lost” that He came to save sinners and shall not fail (Isa. 42:1-4; 1 Tim. 1:12-15; Luke 19:10; John 10:27-30)?
Yes, my friend there is a cause (reason and purpose) that is greater than any of us! The Lord must and will have all the preeminence in salvation (Col. 1:18). The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is all about Him and His glory (1 Cor. 1:30-31; Gal. 6:14).
