I greatly appreciate the labor of love everyone put into our annual Conference. What a joy to see God’s saints serving God’s saints. Everyone who attends our meeting always comments on how good the food is, how well organized everything is, and how friendly you all are. Your Pastor thanks you!
HYMN OF THE DAY
Sovereign grace o’er sin abounding!
Ransomed souls, the tidings swell,
Tis a deep that knows no sounding,
Who its breath or length, can tell?
What from Christ that soul can sever,
Bound by everlasting bands?
Once in Him, in Him forever,
None can pluck thee from His hands.
Heirs of God, joint heirs with Jesus,
Long ere time its race begun,
To His name eternal praises,
Oh, what wonders Christ hath done.
On such love, my soul shall ponder,
Love so great, so rich, so free,
Say, while lost in holy wonder,
Why, 0 Lord, such love to me?
Tune: “Brethren We Have Met” Pg15
Risen with Christ
The scriptures teach us of the believers union with Christ their Lord. “And hath raised us up together, “If ye be risen with Christ” (Eph.2: 6 Col.2: 1). Of course these are just partial quotes. The Bible is clear about our spiritual resurrection with Christ. We were dead in sins, but our God in sovereign mercy quickened us with Christ, and our union is so perfect and complete that, what Christ did we did in Him. Our resurrection with Him is Proof of our acceptance with him. We believe God raised him, and accepted him, and we are accepted in him. “He was delivered for our offences, raised for our justification” (Rom.4: 25).
Our resurrection with him is also, a Pattern for our lives. “Being raised with him we are to walk in newness of life” (Rom.6: 4). How can one have the resurrected life of Christ in them and not be a new creature, and not walk and live in newness of life?
Our being raised up together with him is also the Power by which we know, and understand our calling. “The eyes of your understanding being in enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and the exceeding greatness of his Power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty Power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead” Eph. 1:18-20). It is the spiritual life we have in Christ that gives us any understanding of our union with him, of our life with him, by him, and because of him.
It is because of our resurrection with him, that we have the Promise of our own resurrection. Because He lives we shall live also; “we are sown in weakness but shall be raised in power”.
The resurrection of Christ is the Pledge of our life hereafter. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye mat be also” (Jn. 14:3). “Father I WILL that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory” (Jn. 17:24).
Thank God for our union with Christ our Lord, Thank Our Lord Jesus for becoming one with us that we might be one with him, thank the blessed Holy Spirit for teaching us these blessed truths. - Pastor
NUGGETS
The imputation of Adam’s sin to his posterity, is an act of justice; the imputation of Christ’s righteousness to believers is an act of grace.
The Gospel is not the presenting of a system of philosophy, but of the person of the GOD-MAN Jesus Christ as the object of faith.
Where God is, He is there in totality. - Tim James
CAN A MAN'S HEART BE RIGHT
EVEN IF HIS HEAD IS WRONG?
One of the prevailing errors of our day is that your heart can be right, even though your head is wrong. Or, you can believe in your heart what you do not believe in your head. This thinking is used for so many different reasons. But the naked truth about this is that it is man's attempt to excuse his own refusal to bow to what God says in His Word. "My heart can be right, even if my head is wrong." You cannot believe in your heart what you do not believe in your head any more than you can come back from a place you have never been. Remember unbelief and false doctrine are not intellectual problems. They are born from sin and rebellion. - Pastor Todd Nibert
