“We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:13-14
PASTOR’S NOTE The Lord willing, brother Cody Groover, one of our faithful missionaries from Yucatan, Mexico will be visiting and preaching for us on Wednesday, April 18th.
SEEK YE FIRST AND TRUST HIM FOR THE REST “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).We usually do things backwards, we seek the temporal things first and the eternal things last. Our Heavenly Father has promised to add all that we need on our journey home. Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Our Heavenly Father has already provided for us in Christ all that we need to stand in His presence; Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification and Redemption. Shall He not provide us with all our temporal needs also? The answer is yes. Then let us do as our Lord said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;” and trust Him for the rest. Pastor John Chapman
DEATH REVEALS THE TRUTH Lord, make me to know my end and the measure of my days, that I may know how frail 1 am”(Psalm 39:4). When we, by God's grace are wise enough to face death, judgment and eternity, things are seen in their proper light. All these fine ideas of fame, fortune, and friends, and our so-called importance melt like the frost before the sun. Death reveals the truth, blows away the chaff, shuts a man's mouth, and opens the books. Death takes no notice of what I thought nor of what others thought of me, but only what GOD THINKS! "Oh, that I may win Christ and be found in Him." Pastor Henry Mahan
SALVATION IS OF THE LORD “Salvation is of the Lord” Jonah 2:9 What wonderful, lovely, simple and amazing truth! Singular truth: He has it and no one else. Sovereign truth: He dispenses it as He pleases. Urgent truth: don’t delay come to Him this hour for it. Original truth: salvation starts with no other than Christ our Lord. Lasting truth: salvation has always been and shall ever be found in this one person, by His one work, for His own people. Concluding truth: He’s the alpha and Omega of salvation. Gracious truth: for it proceeds from the most gracious Redeemer. Absolute truth: no wavering about it, no arguing with it, no changing of guard here, it stops with Him in whom we have to do. Humbling truth: we cannot produce it or get it on our own, by our will, worth or merit. Satisfying truth: the sheep would have it no other way! Oh the splendor, grandeur, and brilliance of our great God and His blessed gospel: “Salvation is of the Lord.” Blessed indeed are His people who have been taught such heart-warming truth. I think I’ll tell somebody about it!Pastor Drew Dietz
MERCY'S ROYAL BATH The royal bath of mercy, wherein black souls are washed white as the snow, was filled from the veins of our Lord Jesus Christ. No blood of martyrs mingled with that stream. No blood of noble confessors and heroes of the cross entered into the river of atonement. The banquet of mercy is served by one host, the Lord Jesus Christ, who prepared the feast, invites the guest, makes them willing to come, and gives them their robes of spotless righteousness-the wedding garment. CONFIDENCE IN CHRIST And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (1John 2:28). What sweet comfort this precious promise of God gives to the heart of the believer. Our Lord shall return with glorious splendor to receive us to Himself forever (John 14:1-3). Now, and in that blessed day we shall have absolute and eternal confidence to stand before the holy throne of God totally justified and complete in Christ (Col. 2:9-10).True saving faith has all confidence in Christ, not in self (Heb. 12:2).We say with the Apostle, “We are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Phil. 3:3).
Believers not only have all confidence in Christ, but we also shall never be ashamed of His gospel now, nor before Him at His glorious coming (1John 3:2: 4:17). Every believer can boldly say with the Apostle,“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Rom. 1:16).Christ Jesus is not ashamed to love us (1John 4:10), to own us (Heb. 2:13), to die for us (Heb. 2:17) and to present us faultless before His holy throne (Jude1:24). “For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren” (Heb. 2:11).
How could we ever be ashamed of Him? “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels” (Luke 9:26).
Therefore, those who rest in the Lord Jesus Christ shall have great confidence in Him and shall never be confounded, confused or ashamed to own Him as Lord and Saviour, now and forever.“Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded” (1Peter 2:6; Rom.9: 33; Isa. 28:16).
