As descendants of the Reformation, we have a passion to ensure that vibrant congregational singing is preserved for generations and practiced with great zeal. For that reason, Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church will be offering a workshop to provide instruction on why we sing, what we should be singing, and how we can do it with excellence to the glory of God.
Session One | 6:30 β 7:30 pm What is Worship Music? In this session, Dr. Jones will speak to us about the function and role of hymns and psalms in the context of worship, the origin and definition of a hymn, and why Christians should continue to sing psalms and hymns.
Session Two | 7:45 β 8:30 pm Why should all Christians sing and how congregations can do it well? In this session, Dr. Jones will urge and exhort us from the Scripture as to why every Christian must be participating in congregational singing and how we can do so spiritually, joyfully, and mindfully. He will also give some guidelines for what constitutes "good" worship music.
