These comment areas that are supposedly in use by followers of Christ here are shameful. Not many of the fruits of the Spirit, grace and meekness, gentleness and longsuffering, patience... are on display here. Reminds me of Romans 2:24. John 17:20-21
So many people judging Christians for taking gov funding. I wonder how many of you are aware that Albertans are forced to support public or non-Christian Catholic schools with their own money. That's not "gov money" that's being cut off! That's money that belonged to the parents in the first place who simply want to be able to use THEIR OWN MONEY ti fund their child's Christian education. Stop being so judgemental and start praying instead!
What I find shocking is how thoroughly deceptive SIN is. This woman apparently actually thinks that she knows "the Lord". She actually believes that sexual perversion is "holy" in the sight of God. That said, I doubt that she ever did know the Lord, so I disagree with Arnold's use of the Hebrews text -- how could one have ever actually and truly *known* the Lord and not also know that he HATES sin?!?
I understand how you feel. One thing we might be led to do is to stand at the front steps of the nearest local governing authority and call out the politicians who sanction the murder of the most innocent and defenseless. Jeremiah 19, the Lord told Jeremiah to confront the leaders who, among other things, allowed the land to be filled with innocent blood. As the Lord leads...
"in a west Texas city wishing it could be Dallas, ugh."
Your comment reminds me of the only time I was in Lubbock TX... Truck broke down, stuck in Lubbock for a week. Yeah, I can relate, I too was wishing I was anywhere but Lubbock that January! ;-)
(No offense intended... The people of Lubbock were very friendly and nice to us stranded Canadians... but it was just not fun being an unwilling visitor to Lubbock for a week!)
Amen Jamie! Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
The town clerk of the city of Ephesus testified that Paul the Apostle and those of his company were not blasphemers of false gods. Nor should we unnecessarily cause offense.
Acts 19:37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.
I see your point Theodore, but I really wouldn't have much else to say to one who presumes to take such a name of blasphemy as "Holy Father"!
Matthew 15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. 14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Nevertheless, I wish him well, but only to the end that he would be granted time to repent of his money lust and misrepresentation of Jesus and be born again.
A religious organization is not a "church" Mr. Yurich. A "church" is generally a local assembly of God's blood washed born again children. It sometimes also refers to the entire body of Christ, which generally means all of the local assemblies of God's people, from all locations and from all times.
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [[but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also].
