Thanks, Max, Joelly, Jim L., and Faithful R. for praying for me and giving me some good "feedback". I have been struggling with alcoholism as well. I sometimes, as I am right now, get very depressed and feel (for real) that God will not forgive me because I know the Bible and what He says about alcohol and sexuall sins. As I said earlier, I feel that I beg Him, when I pray, to please give me a hatred for these sins. I cannot do it in my own strength. I still know that I am responsible for every action. While there are selfhelp groups such as AA, I still know that Christ is the only one who I need to help me and save me. I wonder why He has not anwered this prayer for help. I know I'm not worthy to be heard or answered by the Lord. Thanks so much for letting me share with you dear Christians! |

Preacherjond,Limited atonement and irresistable grace are spelled out crystal clear in the Bible. Maybe not in these exact words, but in essence the Bible is very clear. I don't understand this doctrine with my natural mind/intellect, but when I study the many, many verses that support these 2 fundamental truths, I see them as clear as crystal in the Bible. Much, much more could be said yet, many more verses to support these views are in Scripture, but because of the late hour, I won't have the time. When the Bible is so very clear on limited atonement and irresistable grace, i wonder if people are for real when they "say" they don't agree with theses verses. Again, I don't understand God's sovereignty and why some are saved and not others, but a child can see/read the verse clearly for themselves as to thier exact meaning. |
