I have been to everything from a Messianic congregation, to a biker church, to my present felowship, non-denominational church. let's not take our focus off the real goal: Jesus, our prize. Amen, Amen, and again I say Amen and Hallejuha. We were first called Christians in Antioch...the word christian means "little Christ"...thus we are to follow after and be called by the name of our big brother Jesus the Christ. Remember the one caleed John the Baptizer said he was not worth each to untie the sandals of Jesus, and then Jeus gave him direction to baptize Him. It's not about a denomination its about loving, serving, honoring, and having the mind of Christ to see the Kingdom of God. Thanks again brother. It's great to be free indeed in Christ along with you and to walk in His truth. |

This is a good comment and balance upon the present truth of God in all of scripture. God's word is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus went on a 40 day fast in the wilderness. He also gave His disciples instruction on fasting and praying for the casting out of demons. See Matthew 17.14-21. These are Jesus instructions and words. He condemned those who fasted for the wrong motives ONLY. Read Matthew 6.16-18. These are Jesus words on fasting Just as He condemned those who gave their tithes and offerings for the wrong motive or prayed from the wrong motive. May I suggest you try reading some books on fasting and understand that there are forms of fasting which do not require a total abstinance from food. Praise God for your love of God and His people, let God show you how He wants to reveal Himself to you as you fast in a new way to draw closer to Him. |
