Aim: To have the life of Christ flow out of us—for the sake of His glory.
Exegesis: Faith in Christ develops decency in us sinners, as we are fair in our obligations to others (vv. 14-15) and our evaluations of others (v. 16). Faith in Christ develops compassion in us sinners. We are to jettison our ''rights'' (sometimes) (v. 17), and associate with the lowly (always) (v. 18). Faith in Christ elicits sacrifice from us sinners. This is an attitude of grace (vv. 19-21) and gratitude (v. 22).
Key verse: v. 22 ''And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I command you to do this thing.''
