Aim: To live life to the full in Jesus—knowing that He has completely liberated us.
Exegesis: The perfection of Christ covers our unworthiness. God demands absolute flawlessness in us (vv. 1-2) and obedience from us (vv. 3-4). God commands His grace to His elect (v. 5) and His judgment on His enemies (v. 6). The perfection of Christ governs our perspectives, so as to recognize other familial (v. 7a), forgiven (v. 7b), and freed (v. 8) sinner-saints.
Key verse: v. 5 ''Nevertheless the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam, but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you.''
