Paul continues to do the work of the ministry in Ephesus. He debated with the Jews in the synagogue until they were hardened, then he and the disciples went to the school of Tyrannus where he would teach the word of God for the next two years. Through Paul's labors, all of Asia had heard about the Lord Jesus. God also caused special miracles to be done through Paul's handkerchief and apron causing diseases to be healed and evil spirits to flee. The seven sons of the chief priest tried to leverage off of Paul's work, only to be beaten and stripped by a demoniac. This caused fear to fall upon the people and for them to show their deeds. The magic books were burnt and in their place the word of God grew mighty and prevailed. This passage should remind us that our labor for the kingdom is real and meaningful, not because of our importance, but because God actually chooses it as the means to build His kingdom.
