Maintaining God's Temple, Your Body 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 The body is designed to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 3:16. This is one of the glorious truths of both Scripture and the Christian experience. The word "body" is singular: each believer is a temple of the Spirit of God.The Holy Spirit actually dwells within the body of the believer. The Holy Spirit is the gift of God. A man does not receive the Spirit of God by working for Him. He receives the Spirit of God as a gift from God."Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you" John 14:17."At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you" John 14:20."But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his" Romans 8:9.You see, God is not going to share His glory with another. He is not content to be King for a day.
