WSC #7: What are the decrees of God? The decrees of God are his eternal purpose, according to the cousel of his will, whereby, for his own glory, he hath foreordained whatsoever that comes to pass.

Doctrine: God is intertwined in the affairs of mankind, by intertwining His image into our being and beginnings, His presence amidst our suffering and sin, and His life in the Christian's resurrection and eternity.
Exposition: The genesis of genealogy (v. 1): God is faithful over the family (vv. 2-6); God is sovereign through the state (vv. 7-11); God is present in all His people (vv. 12-16).
Application: Intertwine yourself in the affairs of God (v. 17). Live in Christ's day, identify with God's people, and worship God's Son.
