"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved!" Believe! Here are some other words we use to describe the sinner's response: Trust, Receive, Accept, Repent, Turn, Come, Follow, Open… But here's a word that might not be in your evangelism vocabulary: Eat…! "What must I do to be saved?" Eat…drink!
Let's return to Jesus, in the Capernaum Synagogue, in John 6:41 – 59. Jesus had just taught the worldly and skeptical crowd that Moses' manna wasn't the answer. Manna fed only Israel, and for only one generation. The true bread comes from heaven. The true bread offers life to all … life everlasting. Now Jesus narrows His focus from the crowd to their unhappy leaders. From John 6, we will consider… Why the Bread of Life is the only true bread. 1. The Bread of Life came from heaven. vv.41-46 2. The Bread of Life gives eternal life. vv.47-51 3. The Bread of Life must be consumed. vv.52-59
