The writer of Hebrews is making the argument why it was fitting for Christ to become the captain of salvation through suffering. Since everything was made by Him and for Him, it was required for Him to lead people out of the suffering by first joining them in the suffering. The whole world is suffering because of sin. Human life has much pain and sorrow in it and Jesus Christ had to enter that world of pain and sorrow by taking on flesh so that every tear could be wiped away from the sons of glory. He then interprets Psalm 22, which prophesied of the suffering that Christ was going to undergo, as the means that He could call us brethren because He came into the midst of us, declaring and praising the name of God. Next, Psalm 8 is used to support the argument as well. We should be amazed that Jesus Christ who had not experienced the suffering caused by sin would enter into a world filled with sin, so He could bring many sons to glory.
