Here in these verses that I have just read to you, we find many promises given to Israel of what God would do for them in the times to come. Let me list for you the promises given. 1st – The promise of being the God of all the families of Israel. (verses 1 and 2) 2nd – The promise of Israel’s being drawn with lovingkindness, and being rebuilt to praise God. (verses 3 and 4) And 3rd – The promise to regather Israel to come and sing in the height of Zion. (verses 5-9) In relating these truths concerning election and God’s everlasting love, in this sermon I will focus on the national level of Israel as a nation which is how this subject is set forth in the context. At this hour, I want us to think together about Israel; both the Israel after the flesh and God’s spiritual Israel.
