Man and Woman sinned against God and died spiritually, losing their peaceful and satisfying communion with God that they known and experienced since their creation in God's image. God in His just Judgment condemned man and woman to a world of sin and misery, resulting in a return to dust for their disobedience in breaking the covenant made with them (Gen. 3:16-18). God who is rich in mercy and full of compassion also opened up hope and consolation through His promise of a Savior through the Seed of the Woman who would remove the guilt, shame, and condemnation of sin as far as the curse was found (Gen. 3:15). Although mankind will continue to live in a world of sin and misery, God also holds out hope for peace and reconciliation with God through the blood of Christ. Man is exiled from Eden, from the special presence of God Almighty, but God provides for believing man a way back into His presence through faith in Christ alone.
