Paul continues in this letter to the Thessalonian church, reminding them how he and those with him had come in all sincerity preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this gospel they had suffered persecution. The message and the messengers were genuine. He is leading them to trust in the word of God against others that were contradicting and casting doubts upon their ministry and the truths of Christ. What a timely word for the churches today. How we should hold the message and the messenger up against the word of God. Are they both genuine!
