Galatians 5:22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
This time of confinement is a time God can use in us to form our hearts to be more like Christ. In Galatians chapter 5: 22-23, I want to dwell on the first 3 aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit...Love, Joy, Peace.
Love: This is a time for us to grow in Love, to express our love to our family, to our friends, to those across the fence, all these ways, to recognize our love for Christ in a fresh way. The Spirit of God is actively building Love into our lives.
Joy: This is one of those challenges right now for us to experience the Joy of the Lord but we certainly can have Joy in any and every circumstance. So we need to sometimes step back from the pressures and disappointments we may have experienced…lost experiences along the way, graduations that were forfeited, and things like that. Remember that our joy is found in Jesus Christ and that He sustains us and gives us something truly to be joyful about.
Peace: Peace in our hearts that we are right with God, the peacefulness that we can experience even in times of difficulty.
So if we can dwell on those aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit...Love, Joy and Peace this week, it will be a good place for our hearts to meditate and trust God. So let's keep trusting God, let Him form us during this time and we will be stronger for it.
