In relation to Abraham interceding on behalf of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah on the basis of righteous people within those cities, we most often hear discussions about persistence in prayer. And indeed, there are aspects of this passage that can teach us about persistence in prayer.
But just as important, if not more so, are the aspects of this passage (along with the details that we see occur in Ch. 19), that teach us about God's justice. Indeed, the Judge of all the earth shall do what is just, but we don't always understand exactly what is just and what is not.
As Christians, while we need to learn persistence in prayer, we also need to learn about God's perception of justice versus our own.
