Aim: To discover gospel principles through the use of which we will prosper as God's church.
Exegesis: We need to obey God's word, which defines our mission field (v. 40a) and our mandated responsibilities (v. 40b). We need to be committed to God's plan. God causes Christ's church to reign (v. 41a) and dwell (v. 41b) with Him. We need to rely on God's strength. It gives us extraordinary success (v. 42a) and encouragement (v. 42b). We need to be refreshed in God's manner. We are to come together as God's church (v. 43a) and at God's house (v. 43b).
Key verse: v. 42 ''All these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.''
