Here we look at our instructions as to how to live as the end of all things is at hand. We are to be of a sound mind and sober spirit, for the purpose of prayer. And above all as we face the times that God has in store for us, and especially if they are difficult times, we are to be fervent or boiling in our love for one another. As believers we are called to be hospitable. This is of utmost importance because it shows the work of the Holy Spirit in us as we truly love the brethren. During times of persecution this hospitality is in especially great need and believers must see that they do not fail when it comes to accepting those and caring for those who are in need and have fled from their homes. It is of utmost importance that we use of employ the gifts that God has given to the body of Christ. Each one is to understand that the gifts that God has given by His grace, were given to be used for His will and pleasure. As we begin this study of gifts we look at the use of miraculous gifts in the early church to authenticate the message of the apostles, and how the Word reveals that God witnessed with the apostles through signs, especially to the Jewish people. The gift of tongues was used of the Lord to give the gospel to the Jews and proselytes in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. Here we look at what the Word has to say about this event.
