In our sermon passage yesterday morning (Philippians 2:19-30), Paul both laments and lauds ministers of the gospel that he knows and serves with. He sorrows that so few ministers are of like-mind with him, sincerely caring for their flocks souls Instead, they seek their own good and fulfillment, not the things of Christ. In contrast are Timothy and Epaphroditus, fellow-soldiers and workers, true brothers. Just as in Paul's day, today these true ministers, who seek the good of their given flocks and serve Christ above all, are rare indeed and to be held in high regard and received in the Lord with gladness. Pray fervently for those who minister to your souls that they would be such men. Treasure them and receive them with gladness.
