In our morning passage, Philippians 3:1-6, Paul reminds us (and says he doesn't find it tedious to continually remind us) to rejoice in the Lord. He contrasts this rejoicing with false teachers that we are to beware of-those who will teach us to despise God and His grace and lead us to trust in our flesh for salvation. Paul says a great deal of your being beware of these false teachers who can suck you into false religion is to rejoice in the Lord. Obey the command an rejoice in the Lord. Find your pleasure and great delight in Him and everything He does. It is no trouble to say it again. It is a safeguard to you. The pathway to apostasy is ingratitude. It is bitterness. It is not rejoicing in the Lord. May it never be so of us. May we in the power in the Holy Spirit ever rejoice in the Lord.
