Theme: Though a long time coming, the promise of the Anointed One is fulfilled. In v. 1a, we see the promise through David. We hope in the eternal King! In v. 1b, we see the promise through Abraham. It is in Christ that all nations would be blessed, and we need to consider our place in Christ. In vv. 2-17, we see how the promise reveals the Savior's grace. As we consider each of those listed in the genealogy, we can rejoice in Christ's grace to them and us! Christmas is when God was made low; Jesus came to us in fulfillment of God's promise. We can rejoice in His amazing grace!
