We live in a very interesting age, where despite all our technology and sophistication we can be so ignorant of the past and we sometimes struggle with remembering some of the most important and basic things we have to do. The billions of dollars that are spent each year on computers, organizers, and the like, don't always help with these basic issues. Scripture frequently calls us to remember. It repeats stories, promises, and commands, so that we will be reminded and remember the most important things we believe and the most critical things we need to do. There are many, many things important to remember. What Peter most wants his readers to remember and be confident in is the Lordship of Christ. This morning we will look at verses 1-7 in three parts. First, a call to remember the message of Scripture (v. 1-2). Second, a warning to not be troubled by doubters (v.3-4). Third, a reason to not doubt the Word of God.
