Aim: To appreciate the wonderful blessing of Christ's regeneration of us.
Exegesis: Regeneration causes us to seek Christ, despite the misery of our sin (vv. 46-47) and the discouragement of other sinners (v. 48). Regeneration causes us to heed Christ. His message to us is authoritative (v. 49a), encouraging (v. 49b), and irresistible (v. 50). Regeneration causes us to love Christ. He favors (v. 51), saves (v. 52a), and refocuses (v. 52b) our lives.
Key verse: v. 52 ''Then Jesus said to him, 'Go your way; your faith has made you well.' And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.''
