The New Testament uses approximately 12 different Greek words to describe our English term “commit.” So when I talk about real commitment I need to narrow down what I mean. Of the 45 times commit or committed is found in the New Testament it is used in four general areas. First to describe sinful acts; second to explain items God committed to men; third to describe what God’s children have committed to the Lord; and finally what Christ did not commit to unredeemed men. This message will primarily focus on what God committed to His children and what He expects from them.
