Oh to be a child again when one had few responsibilities and cares! However with age comes adult obligations! The same is true in the spiritual realm. As we grow and mature in the Lord, God expects us to assume adult obligations that we did not have as a babe in Christ. In a general sense, we have an obligation to walk ourselves-- that is, either individually watch out for our own spiritual welfare, or collectively in that we are now our brother's keeper. Specifically, as spiritual adults, we have an obligation not to cause others to sin, to rebuke the sin we see, and to forgive those who repent. We also have an obligation to God to serve Him with the gifts He has given to us and fulfill the task He has for us. To do so, we must exercise the child-size, child-like faith we already possess. Adult-like faith doubts; Child-like faith believes that God can do the impossible, even uprooting mulberry trees and replanting them in the sea. We are called upon to exercise our child-size faith in meeting our adult responsibilities and duties!
