This Messianic Psalm speaks not only of the rejected cornerstone, but of the binding of the "festal sacrifice with cords, up to the horns of the altar." This is, I believe, a reference to Christ being bound to the cross of Calvary with the Roman nails. By being offered up on the cross, he was the true and sufficient substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of his people. He submitted to bearing our sins in obedience to the Father and because of his love for us, his people. He was the true Lamb of God whose sacrifice removed our sin. Therefore, worthy is he of all praise and service now and forever. Amen!
