The Lord Jesus is wonderful in a thousand different ways! In Isaiah 9:6 he says, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” In that scripture he is called by five different names, but I like to call him “Wonderful”.

He was wonderful back before he spoke the universe into existence. He always was and always will be the Wonderful Creator of all things, past, present and future.

He was wonderful before he came into this world he made and was born of Mary in a little stable at Bethlehem. It was wonderful that neither Herod nor any other enemy could kill him until he was ready to die for you and me at Calvary. In ages past his plan was to come and suffer in our stead and give his life a sacrifice on the cross to save you and me from Hell. Yes, he was wonderful in all the ages past.

He was wonderful in his birth at Bethlehem. He is the only perfect child ever born. An example for all children was He. He was wonderful in his childhood. At the age of twelve he went to the temple, answered all the questions the professors could throw at him, and knew their thoughts before they spoke.

He was wonderful in his life. The world saw in him the only perfect one in the history of man kind. He was a perfect example. Jesus was perfect in his death and his resurrection, a perfect salvation for all of us who will believe! “Whosoever will may come.” Jesus Christ was wonderful in his resurrection. Jesus died, was buried in a borrowed tomb, but the grave could not hold him.

Again our Lord was wonderful in his ascension. Speaking to his disciples in the Passover chamber, he said in John 14:2-3, “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you into myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

He will be wonderful again in the rapture of the church when he comes again. Read all about it in First Thessalonians 4:16-17. Yes, Jesus is coming again and it could be soon, even today! Be ready! For those who know Christ as Saviour, Jesus will be wonderful in eternity. In the ages to come you will never be separated from the love of Christ. Think about that!
