Many people do not know for sure if they are saved or not. If Satan can keep a Christian in doubt about their eternal salvation for a whole life time, he has kept that person from being a very good witness, and other souls go to Hell. The Christian who constantly doubts his new birth is not very excited about trying to tell others about God’s saving grace. First of all the devil wants to keep you lost. Second, if you do happen to get saved, he begins immediately to cause you to doubt your salvation experience.

When you ask many people if they are saved some of them look embarrassed and shy and say, “I think I am O.K., or I hope I am good, I’m trying to be good, or I don’t think anyone knows for sure.” Some say that maybe God will let them in. Still others are depending on their good deeds and good works as their hope of heaven and some say they don’t know.

Satan is in the business of deceiving and he will keep you in the valley of indecision for a life time to keep you from winning other souls to Christ. But you can know for sure if you read I John 5:11-14, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.”

So there you have God’s word for it is in the preceding Scripture. You can have a “know so” salvation and be sure beyond any shadow of a doubt that your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life, never to be erased. God asks us to see our self as a Hell deserving sinner and ask Him for mercy and forgiveness and He then saves your soul for eternity.
