Paul, the greatest missionary outside of Jesus Christ himself, said that he was not ashamed of God, the Bible, and Christ Jesus his Savior. Listen to him express it in Romans 1:15-17, “So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

If I were to die today, one of the greatest regrets I would have would be that I never tried as hard to win others to Christ as I should have. Many of us are too shy and too afraid of offending someone, that it is easier to remain silent. But the Bible reminds us that Hell will offend them even worse. Many people of the faith are even ashamed to witness because it is not popular with the world. But nothing is worse than knowing your relatives, friends, and neighbors will in most cases burn in Hell for eternity.

Paul, was saying, “I am not ashamed of Jesus Christ and his redeeming message, and I will be a delivery boy for it.” Lord help us not to be ashamed. You are not ashamed of your wife, husband, children, grandchildren, or friends. You aren’t ashamed to discuss politics, business, world conditions, Wall Street activities or the economy, are you?

I cannot help but notice that many people act fairly spiritual in a Sunday morning service, or any church meeting. But if you see them during the week you would hardly know they are Christian folks. Sometimes I have to wonder if they are real, or is it that they are simply ashamed of Jesus. We need to walk with him all week long.
