There have been some wars we were involved in where it was easy to recognize our enemies. After all, they wore uniforms and were easy to see and know. But in some of the wars of late it’s hard to tell who to shoot at because they wear no identification at all. We find it out when they come out shooting in all directions. Then it’s too late.

Let me say that Satan is America’s greatest enemy and I don’t believe we, as a whole, even understand that! God tells us in 1Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant, because our adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” So if God says he will devour us, we must conclude that he is a very dangerous foe. It behooves us to prepare, watch and be ready for action.

The storm clouds of war hang low and heavy over our country. They have been just about all of my life. We have fought and won some of them, half won others and it looks like someday we will have others who will defeat us unless we fight! Wars and rumors of wars loom heavy on our horizon. Freedom is not free! Thousands of valiant men and women have shed rivers of blood to acquire and maintain this freedom we often take for granted!

But the greatest war we could ever fight is the war in our lives as Americans. The great majority of Christians are not putting up a very strong fight against sin. Born again believers living in known and unconfessed sin is an invitation for Satan to devour us from within.

Christians who go to the polls and vote for the legalization of wine, beer, whiskey or any other alcoholic beverages are voting for America’s down fall. Why don’t we stand? Parents who will not train the children up in the nurture (discipline) and admonition of the Lord are raising delinquents for Satan. We need to repent of sins and rear them for God. Crime on the street comes from this, and sin is a more dangerous enemy than all the other countries. Sin is rotting us from within. We kill over a million unborn babies a year…they call it abortion…God calls it murder! Other nations may not have to bomb us; we are doing it to ourselves. Our streets are like combat zones at night, while bar rooms and casinos are full. Sin is our greatest enemy.
