It seems that American society, as a whole, has chosen to ignore God’s Bible recipe for contentment, fulfillment, and peace, by substituting it with three other things. We seem to be caught up in beauty, (beautiful bodies), brains, (a great education and being real intelligent). But there is a third thing, money, or bucks we call it… big bucks…more and more bucks.

Of course God had a better idea when He wrote Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” America is swiftly drifting away from God, who is the source of all joy, fulfillment, contentment, and happiness. We take prayer out of our schools, and we have very little prayer at home. Some churches are pretty dry themselves depending on programs rather than the Holy Spirit. They have no power, and gradually die out.

Bodies: Now there is nothing wrong with having a beautiful body if we are Godly at the same time. But Hollywood teaches us that beauty is everything, and that is a mistake. Beauty is only skin deep. Some of the most beautiful people we have ever known may not have a beautiful body, but they are godly and beautiful in God’s sight.

Brains: No one has ever accused me of being overly smart, but I believe it would be a blessing to be very intelligent. But sinful society seems to believe that those who are smart can outsmart God. Real smart people always depend completely on God and what His word says in the Bible. They never say it all evolved. They just believe Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created He them.” They believe Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
