The big creek which ran close to my house was pretty in many ways. It had some beautiful sand bars of snow white which attracted small girls and boys to play in it. Other kids were busy making what they called barns, houses or stores. I pretended to build castles. Mother would say, “Son, you know the floods come and when the creek is overflowing the banks, your castle will wash away.” My castles were very temporary as all things of this world are. Sure enough, they floated away with the first rain storm. Too many people today are building sand castles.

Life on planet Earth is so very much the same. Someday we will have to part with all our things that for the time seemed so important. When we come to the last mile of the way we will have to leave money, stocks, bonds, houses, and land, and all these material things. At our departure time it won’t matter much whether we have been poor or rich. The only thing we will have left is our soul to burn in Hell forever, or rejoice in Heaven down through the ages of eternity.

If we know not Jesus as Lord of our lives and Savior of our soul, we are very poor indeed! But, I thank God that there is a mansion above greater than my little play castles in the sand, that awaits you if you have repented and trusted Christ as your Savior. If you have not, why not now?

John 14:1-3, “Let not your heat be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
