While we say thanks to God for all the blessings of eighty-two years here on earth, I know there are better things yet to come beyond the sunset. The song writer knew the best is yet to come! In the book of Hebrews, God tells us that old faithful Abraham listened to God and went out, sojourned in the land of promise, dwelt in tents, and then he looked for a city that would sound strange to a lost and dying world today. Hebrews 11:10, “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” All the worldly things here are but like unto sand castles which vanish away at the end of our day.

But Abraham was looking for that city John talks about in chapter fourteen of John. There he promises, “Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” A prepared place for a prepared people! The preparation must be done now while you are alive down here on earth. You must repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Saviour to have a one way ticket to those mansions above. Have you put your faith and trust in Jesus, the Redeemer? If not, there is no time better than right now.
