Thy mercy, my God, is the theme of my song, The joy of my heart & the boast of my ton¬gue; Thy grace, so free, from the 1st to the last, Has won my affections and bound my soul fast.
Thy mercy in Jesus has saved me from hell; Its glories to sing & its wonders to tell; Twas Christ my Redeemer who hung on the tree, That opened the fountain of mercy for me.
Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own, And the covenant love of Thy crucified Son; All praise to Thy Spirit; His calling Di¬vine, Makes wisdom & pardon & righteousness mine.
Secure in Christ Jesus, no power can shake; The foundation is laid, & it never can break; With God justified, our salvation to bless, In the Lord Jesus Christ our Righteous¬ness.

The Test of Household of Faith
The spirit of liberty, gospel freedom, sweet peace in the conscience, pardon and redemption is all in Christ, my friends. And if we are blessed with these spiritual blessings in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are safe and secure to all eternity. The soul that has a saving interest in Christ, the great Redeemer, is as sure of heaven as if he were there already.
It is not as some free-willers wickedly tell their hearers - "There are thousands in hell for whom Christ shed His blood."
O no, this can never be the case; for the Father has declared of the Son, "He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied."
He could never be satisfied if the purchase of His blood, the ransom of His life, were to be lifting up their eyes in hell. "The ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
It is in Christ, my friends. The Lord keep you and me looking by precious faith to the Person of the great Redeemer, to His blood shedding and justifying righteousness, for peace and salvation. It is the test of the household of faith.

Christ Great Work What is His work? The work which the Father gave Him to do; the work covenanted from before the world began; the work that shall crown Him with glory and honor for ever and ever; the work of fulfilling, of magnifying, and of honoring the holy law of God; the work of satisfying it and of sheathing the sword of inflexible justice in His own heart; the work of vanquishing the powers of darkness, bruising the old serpent's head, spoiling principalities and powers, taking away the sting of death, and removing the curse forever from all the election of grace. That is the work of God; that is the work of Christ, and it is freely given to the believer.

CHRIST CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH
"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:..." (Romans 8:3) To say the preaching of the law could set a sinner free from sin is the equivalent of preaching "Thou shalt not kill"to a convicted murderer on death row. He is already guilty of the crime and has been tried, convicted, and sentenced under the law. The law cannot acquit and set a convicted sinner free. It is not because of any weakness in the law but in the sinner who is guilty. How then can we who are sinners be set free? God sent His own Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to become incarnate, "the likeness of sinful flesh," yet He was and is without sin. "And FOR OUR SIN," as a substitute in our place having our sins imputed (accounted, charged) to Him, He "condemned sin in the flesh." Christ, as GODMAN, suffered all the condemnation due unto all the sins of all of God's elect, and set us free by His obedience unto death, even the death of the cross. Now, we who Christ has set free by His death on the cross (Rom. 6:3-7) must be set free in our own experience in the new birth. (Rom. 6:17-18) This liberty comes through the preaching of the Gospel of God's grace in and by the Lord Jesus Christ and based on His blood and righteousness alone. The Gospel is the preaching of liberty to the captives. (Isa. 61:1-3 And when we are born again by the Holy Spirit, we are set free from the bondage of legalism and dead, self-righteous works. (Gal. 5:1) We are also set free to approach, commune with, worship, and serve the true and living God, not by obligation of law, but by compulsion of love, grace and gratitude. (Rom. 7:4-6; II Cor. 5:14; Gal. 5:6; Heb. 10:19-22) All this glorious freedom is because condemned sin in the flesh.
