“Coffee with Christ”

(Matthew 3:7-8)

“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:”

Many a person has been Baptized as a young child only later to realize they never had an intimate relationship with Christ! Some have been Baptized two, three times and even more, believing that it would eventually effect a change of heart. Baptism has never effected repentance unto Salvation but rather repentance unto Salvation should effect the desire for Baptism. Before the ordinance of Baptism be administered though, the candidate should first bring forth evidence (fruit) of true repentance! Ye shall know them by their fruit! This takes time and should not be rushed nor taken lightly. We do damage by giving the lost artificial assurance, leading them in the sinners prayer, (whatever that means) and Baptizing them into the membership of the Church with no evidence of genuine conversion!
