“Coffee with Christ”

(John 20:19, 24)

19.“Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.” 24.“But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.”

Where was Thomas when Jesus came? Why was he not assembled with the rest of the disciples? It doesn’t say where he was or why he wasn’t where he should have been but it does give us a clue! He knew the meeting was taking place. It was his lack of belief in the resurrection of Christ that had robbed him of his hope and the lack of hope eliminated his faithfulness. He didn’t feel the need to assemble with the church since Christ was dead! If you don’t feel you have a living Savior you will have a dead faith! In refusing to fellowship with believers you cannot expect to have fellowship with Jesus!
