It is easy for us to become discouraged when the world rewards wicked behavior. When we see evil things uncorrected by the legal system. When we see people's lives destroyed by rioters "protesting" one man's death but causing so many more... when we see liars unchallenged by the media because of the systematic bias and agenda which lines up with that of the liar. It is obvious that the world in which we live neither sees, nor cares that truth is not honored so long as the story lines up with its desired outcome. But the thing that is easy for us to forget is that this world is not OUR world... this place is not our home, this life is not ever going to be OUR "best life". It is not supposed to be the place where we feel at home, it is not where we will be rewarded. And despite all appearances to the contrary, it is not where the evil in this world gets its reward either. The good things that come to the wicked are NOT rewards. They are simply fuel for their eventual judgement... God sees the deeds of the wicked, He knows the wrongdoing and waits until their wickedness has reached its full flower. Those who seek only evil will find that they do not want the rewards that will come in the end. Beloved, this fact should drive us all the more to proclaim the twofold truth that judgement IS coming, and that mercy and redemption are found in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We dare not accept the status quo, nor believe the empty promises of those who only live for this world. The end of that aim is only destruction. Instead, cling to the truth of Christ with all your heart!!
