“Coffee with Christ” (1 Thessalonians 2:13) “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.” How do you receive the message of God. Do you recognize it as the word of God or do you reject it as only a mans opinion? Those who receive it as Gods word were “effected by it” unto salvation. Faith was the effect! That is the effectual Grace of God that is given to those who have been given as a gift unto the Son by the Father. (John 6:37-39) “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” Those who reject it do so because they have been left unto their own understanding and remain in darkness. (John 10:24-29) “Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. (But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep), as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, (which gave them to me), is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.” Why, you might ask? That God Himself would receive the Glory for salvation. He is Glorified for being both Gracious to some who did not deserve it, but also for being Just to others who do. God’s ways are not our ways! Who is sufficient for these things? (2 Corinthians 2:15-16)
“For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?”
