We don’t like to think about the justice of God, it scares us - a lot… and frankly it should. For wickedness is what we do, it is what we are. We live in an age where the whole conversation revolves around my right to do as I please and your utter lack of right to even think anything about it… added to this mix of ridiculous contradictions is the idea that every single person has the right to decide what is right in their own eyes (except those who hold a Biblical standard of course). Now try to figure out what happens when your opinions about right and wrong fly in the face of my opinions about right and wrong, and then finally consider the new and exciting reality of utter and completely one sided censorship of ideas as well as a total lack of freedom to even DISCUSS them... mix this all up and what you get is a cesspit of ruin and confusion where truth, logic and any sense of reality are thrown out to die a terrible death in the streets, which run amok with bloody riots, burning and looting… it all sounds just too terrible to be true, and yet we have seen it in the news so long and so often that we have largely become numb to the horror… it is no wonder that God is angry with the wicked EVERY DAY! It is the simple truth that if we do not turn back from the path of destruction upon which we have set ourselves God WILL act in judgement, in many ways He has already done so, for the terrible decay of our moral fabric is merely evidence of how much He has turned His back on us… But the hope in the midst of all the chaos is this - our God is a merciful and forgiving God, He has already paid the price of our redemption and made the way for us to be healed. It is not with any political party, action, or group… it is in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our only defense in the midst of the coming storm is the direct action of God who will save the upright in heart, and the only ones who answer that description are those who have been cleansed by the saving blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. Oh, precious child, I beg you, run to the cross and find there forgiveness and healing! It is the only hope that ANY of us have!!
