Here is the simple truth - all that we are, all that we have, all that we know and say, and all that we do is all held in the sovereign hand of our omnipotent God. Every breath comes from Him, and every moment that we live is a gift from God. He is the One who ends life and He is the one who sustains it. But in the moments which are filled with fear, we tend to seek some mechanism by which we can somehow change the things we see looming on the horizon... the real truth is much more basic. God is the One we need to be seeking. He is the One who is our only hope. He will preserve us or He will not, but make no mistake, it is up to Him, and He will do what He will do. Either He will provide a way of escape, or the crisis will become our undoing, but it will be exactly what God has determined it will be. Our panic, our worry, our fear does not change what is going on, it merely makes us afraid. It is the rule of life for all who follow Christ that we do not make our decisions based on fear, but in faith and obedience to our God.
